Etisalat and Nigeria-based banking group First Bank have partnered in order to make mobile payments more secure as well as accessible.

According to both parties, the partnership is intended to combine First Bank’s Fisrtmonie with Etisalat’s Easywallet application. The overall aim is to promote the use of Firstmonie on the Easywallet SIM Tool Kit menu. The support from the two organisations will include an awareness campaign, increase mobile money visibility and education, training and branding of agents, as well as the much-needed support and issue resolutions.

Lucas Dada, Business Segment Director at Etisalat Nigeria stated that: “Etisalat Easywallet is a secure and convenient platform for mobile money services. With the Easywallet, Etisalat subscribers can make financial transactions such as Peer-to-Peer transfers, Bills Payment and Airtime top-up, directly from their mobile device.”
